St. Agnes' Mission in Cowan, TN is an orthodox, Bible-believing congregation fully committed to the ancient faith of the one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We stand firmly on the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the Word of God, the ultimate standard of faith and containing all things necessary for salvation.
We embrace the sacred order of the church that is found in the New Testament and delivered to us through the centuries of Christianity.
This congregation affirms Holy Matrimony as the life-long and faithful union of one man and one woman. We believe further that Holy Matrimony is a God-given institution and a foundational aspect of God's plan for Creation. As such, we oppose the erroneous and unbiblical embrace of extramarital sexual behavior (adultery, homosexuality and fornication) both in the church and in society as a whole.
This congregation affirms the sanctity and nurture of all human life, irrespective of health, status, born or unborn. As such, we firmly oppose abortion and assisted suicide.
St. Agnes' is affiliated with the American Anglican Council, a fellowship of individuals, parishes and ministries who affirm biblical authority and Christian orthodoxy within the Anglican Communion.
We are fully aware that the Episcopal Church in the United States has erred and fails to represent the "faith once delivered". Therefore, we do not send fair share or discretionary monies to the Episcopal Church.
